Join us for a cycling tour around the Tatra Mountains, the highest and most dramatic range of the Carpathians. This is a bicycle journey through a borderland where Polish and Slovak cultures intertwine, framed by jagged granite peaks, deep post-glacial valleys, and the living traditions of the highlanders. Here, the raw alpine landscape meets the charm of wooden architecture and the tranquility of remote mountain meadows.

Riding our bicycles, light and supported, we will complete a full loop around the massif, crossing the border between Poland and Slovakia. From the limestone cliffs of the Pieniny Mountains and the emerald waters of the Dunajec River Gorge to the high-altitude silence of Velické Pleso and the Western Tatras, this route is designed to showcase the diversity of the "Crown of the Carpathians." We will use the best bicycle routes of the region, choose scenic gravel roads, quiet asphalt stretches, that offer constant panoramas of the serrated skyline.

Each day brings a change of perspective, from the historic streets of Cracow (Kraków) and the royal castle of Orava to overnight stays in high-altitude mountain hotels, where the stars feel within arm’s reach. We focus on the ride, the mountain air, and the authentic atmosphere of local guesthouses. After a day in the saddle, we enjoy traditional mountain cuisine and the unique hospitality that has defined this region for centuries.

This is an E-bike-friendly bicycle tour, and our luggage will be transferred between stops. This allows us to focus on the best cycling experience, admiring nature, and cultural exploration. We invite you on a cycling journey where the peaks are always in sight, and the climb is just a part of the adventure.

INFORMACJE DODATKOWE:

trasa THE ROUTE
Our route will cover approximately 300 km, with daily distances ranging from 25 to 55 km and elevation gains between 400 and 1,100 meters.

Difficulty levels:
e-bikes: easy
classic bikes: medium

The stages pass through a variety of surfaces: from the smooth asphalt of the Velo Dunajec and the Tatra Cycling Loop, to scenic, high-quality gravel mountain roads in the High and Western Tatras. The route does not require advanced mountain biking technical skills, but due to the alpine character of the region, participants should be comfortable with long descents and steady climbs. This journey is designed to be fully enjoyed on electric bikes (e-bikes), which allow us to reach high-altitude spots like Velické Pleso (1,670 m) with ease.

trasa LOGISTICS & SUPPORT
This is a classic point-to-point touring expedition. We ride light; your main luggage is transported daily by our support van directly to the next hotel or mountain guesthouse. This allows you to focus purely on the riding and the panoramic views of the Carpathians.

A professional support vehicle and a bike assistant/mechanic are with the group throughout the cycling days. In case of bad weather or if you simply wish to take a break, the support van is available to transport you and your bike to the next destination. We handle all the logistics, including e-bike battery management, so you can enjoy the silence of the mountains and the unique atmosphere of our high-altitude overnight stays.

trasa BIKES
We recommend trekking bikes, gravel bikes, or light MTBs. Due to the significant elevation gains on certain days, an e-bike (e-trekking or e-MTB) is the ideal choice to fully enjoy the alpine panoramas without overexertion.

You can bring your own bike or rent a high-quality electric bike from our local partners.

zakwaterowanie ACCOMMODATION
During this journey, we stay in carefully selected locations that reflect the diverse character of the Tatra region. Our accommodation ranges from hotels in the heart of Cracow and Zakopane to traditional highlander guesthouses known for their unique wooden architecture and local hospitality.

The true highlight of this trip is our stay in high-altitude mountain hotels. These locations offer a unique experience of mountain silence, star-filled skies, and the ability to start your ride directly on the alpine trails.

Rooms are typically twin, double, or triple beds, equipped with standard amenities including showers and Wi-Fi. These are intimate spots chosen for their proximity to the trails, breathtaking views of the peaks, and authentic mountain atmosphere.

wyżywienie FOOD & CUISINE
We provide all breakfasts served at our accommodations, and water and snacks for all days on the bike. For lunch and dinner, we will visit local inns, mountain huts, and regional restaurants. Your tour leader will point out the best spots to experience authentic "mountain soul" on a plate, including traditional dinners in the historic centers of Cracow and Zakopane. Lunches and dinners are not included in the trip price and are paid for individually by participants.

The cuisine of the Tatra Mountains is hearty and authentic, shaped by the highlander culture of both Poland and Slovakia. You can expect rich flavors based on local products: traditional oscypek (smoked sheep cheese), sour rye soup (żurek), handmade dumplings (pierogi), and on the Slovak side, classic bryndzové halušky (potato dumplings with sheep cheese) and savory garlic soups.

transport TRANSPORT
We provide comfortable group transfers from Cracow Airport to our starting point in the mountains and back at the end of the trip. Throughout the entire journey, a support vehicle will accompany the group, transporting your luggage between hotels each day so you can ride unburdened. The van also serves as a safety vehicle on the route—available if you need a break or encounter technical issues.

For those renting equipment from us, we provide high-quality e-MTBs (electric mountain bikes) specifically serviced for alpine terrain. Our support system is fully equipped for e-bike logistics, including battery charging support and technical maintenance, ensuring your bike is ready for every climb.

grupa GROUP SIZE
We believe in the quality of small-group travel. To ensure a personal atmosphere and flexible logistics on the mountain roads, our groups are kept small. The minimum number of participants is 6, and the maximum is 14.

pogoda WEATHER & TIMING
Our bicycle tours around the High Tatras are scheduled for September and October, which is widely considered the best time for cycling in the Tatra Mountains. During this period, the air is crisp and clear, offering the most spectacular views of the granite peaks. In the valleys, you can expect pleasant temperatures between 16 and 22°C, ideal for active riding. However, the Tatras are a high-alpine environment; at our mountain hotel locations (above 1,500 m), temperatures can drop to 5–10°C after sunset.

While these months are generally stable and predictable, mountain weather can change quickly. We recommend a "layering" approach to clothing, including a light windproof jacket, to stay comfortable across the varying elevations of our route.

wylot STARTING POINT
The tour officially begins and ends in Cracow, Poland. Our meeting point is strategically located for easy access from Cracow Airport (KRK). If you are planning to arrive via a different airport, we are happy to assist with logistics.
